Overview of WSTC Ski Classes

We have an exciting calendar for the 2007-2008 season – A diverse assortment of classes and clinics for Nordic classic and skating skiing on the trails, and telemark and randonee skiing on the slope. For the 2007-2008 season, WSTC has partnered with The Mountaineers Foothills Branch for Nordic track/skate and Telemark/Randonee lessons and clinics to offer a board range of offerings to the members of both clubs.

Please note:

News And Updates

Class Offerings Update - Jan 2008

Due to recent operational changes in running our XC ski courses, The Mountaineers will be running the ski courses at sno-parks in place of contracting operations to the Summit Nordic Center. The Mountaineers made this decision for the benefit of its students and maintain quality in its program. As a result we have needed to reduce our offerings on certain days (Saturdays in late Jan/Feb) and our kids course offerings. Students will also need to purchase sno-park permit-one per car. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in making these adjustments.

Ad-Hoc Ski Course Orientation and Gear Demo

Our regularly scheduled Orientations and Gear Demos occurred in Dec.  We will have an ad-hoc Orientation and Gear Demo on Thursday Jan 3 at the end of Washington Ski Touring Club (WSTC) meeting at the Seattle REI. Meet at 8 PM outside the upstairs meeting room for the WSTC meeting.  We will be on-hand to answer to questions about pre-course/pre-class preparation regarding gear, clothing, and lesson format including (including proper clothing, ski passes, sno-park permits, nutrition, ski conditioning) as well as submit enrollment paper work (skills survey, liability release forms).  We have arranged for REI sales people to be on-hand to answer ski and snowshoe gear questions in the ski department.

Date:  Jan 3, 8 PM, Seattle REI, 222 Yale Ave North, Seattle, Meet upstairs outside meeting room for WSTC meeting
